With the manicured polo field and beautiful mountains views at Val de Vie  setting the scene for a very romantic, glamorous day. Cake Smash | Ariella Sloan Viljoen

I am very proud to once again have my niece come visit me in the studio - she is such a lady and super star! She just DOVE into that cake like no other baby before :-) What makes this shoot even MORE special is that the lace tent was made by my mom, Ariella's grandmother, the teacups in the background is a family heirloom (from my grandmother) and her pretty white dress was made by her other auntie, Auntie Leila! Ariella, we celebrate with you your first year on this earth with us! And of course, my kids had to jump in for a photo or two with their cousin :-)

And this family is very special as I took their wedding photos last year and their maternity shoot a few months ago. This is a very special type of shoot and I suggest to everyone to do a shoot like this every few years - a shoot where the WHOLE family gets together and get photographed! Granny, Grandpa, all the aunties and uncles and ALL the cousins (grandchildren). So so so very special!!

I am very proud to share this portfolio with you, because this is my photography studio in Sonstraal Heights. It is a lifestyle studio which means it is not the old school white infinity backdrop, but more a relaxed homey feel. So people feel right at home since the moment they enter and we can capture beautiful family moments - any time of day and any type of weather! I just LOVE capturing families - the interaction between the kids, the love of the parents and the always unpredictable - not knowing if the kids will sit still and smile or want to run around the whole time! And I love the outdoors! So location family shoots is something I really enjoy doing and feel every family should do every few years - just to keep those family photos on the wall updated!

Nelson's Creek | Sharon & Tawanda Anniversary

This was one of the most special events that I have ever photographed - a 10 year anniversary celebration. And this weekend was jam-packed with many events, but most of all with lots of love and friendships. It was such a privilege for me to be a part of this and especially hearing the sermon of this celebration - one of the best I have ever heard in 13 years in the industry. This is an amazing group of people! it was great to have the beautiful setting of Nelson's Creek for the ceremony and reception and then an amazing sunset yacht ride in the Waterfront on the Tigger 2. Then the following day we had lots of fun on the beach and at Ocean View house where all the friends were staying for the weekend. I hope you enjoy the photos with me!
